The use of breed labels for shelter dogs has declined in recent years. Most dogs cannot be accurately identified just by looking at them and using labels often serves to slow adoption of some dogs. In this panel discussion, we talk about how ending the use of labels and focusing on the personality of dogs helps them get adopted.

Participating are Davyd Smith of No Kill Colorado, Alan Rosenberg of the NJ Animal Observer, Shirley Marsh of Yes Biscuit and Aubrie Kavanaugh of Paws4Change and No Kill Huntsville. The video last approximately 12 minutes.

There are currently hundreds of communities across the USA whose shelters have stopped killing healthy or treatable pets. The shelters in your community can do that, too. If your community is not already No Kill, your shelters need to hear from you and your friends.... please get involved to save lives.
