No Kill in Motion: Our Opposition to Colorado House Bill 21-1160

Writer's picture: Aubrie KavanaughAubrie Kavanaugh

Colorado House Bill 21-1160 will be heard by the Agriculture, Livestock and Water Committee on Monday, March 22, 2021. We oppose this bill for a variety of reasons we cover in this short panel discussion. The bill looks harmless when we read the words; it is how those words are used to end the lives of animals which is the issue.

We encourage everyone who lives in Colorado to read this bill, do a little research about it and then speak out to the members of the committee to state your opposition. What you should ask yourself is this: would my own animals be destroyed if this bill became law?

The language of the bill is here.

There are currently hundreds of communities across the USA whose shelters have stopped killing healthy or treatable pets. The shelters in your community can do that, too. If your community is not already No Kill, your shelters need to hear from you and your friends.... please get involved to save lives.
